Never leave home without a sandwich

Jen and I went for a walk on Saturday. It was meant to be a leisurely stroll along a tiny stretch of the gower Peninsula. We got lost. It became a monster marathon without end. Foolishly we'd not packed any food for the journey. I now realise that being lost and hungry can bring with it a frightening sense of apathy for one's safety. "I'm lost and I don't care". In our weakened state we eventually asked for directions and struck out for home. It took ages. We argued. We now ache.

It was amazingly good fun.

What A Lovely Day!

It's always amazing when two people commit to marriage. It was particularly moving to see Cath and Rich tie the knot.Well done you two - and what a story!

I'm Wrecked

uuuuuuuuuuuuuurgh I hate flying. The noises, the rattles - and that's before we've even left terra firma. Horrible. Oh and a near death experience as we came into land at Edinburgh international. I thought it was game over. I thought Andrews, it's time to shuffle off your mortal coil / I caught the sound of a distant trump / Homeward bound etc. BUT, the pilot pulled off a miraculous move and we landed with a thud moments later! Thanks Mr Pilot man.

Was in said Scottish city for awesome little cousin's wedding in Edinburgh. Congratulations Claire and Stuart - great day. The whole tribe trooped north, bonded and arrived back in Cardiff tonight.

Sometimes I feel as though the joie d'esprit, mystery and wonder of Christmas never quite made it...
